Salsomaggiore Terme : one day in an historic and artistic spa

The temperatures are going down ... in some areas there is already the fog. To combat the cold and wet, diving in a spa can be a pleasant experience. The last one we visited was really a surprise: in Salsomaggiore, Berzieri Baths can fully included among the monuments of italian national importance: the whiteness and marble, the sparkle of unique colors, the aristocratic beauty of gilding and ceramics and glass decorations. Going up and down the wide stairs and reflecting yourselves in the lavish large mirror you seem to do just a jump in the past. In Berzieri spa you can do every treatment, in the beautiful and unique Art Nouveau and Art Deco Italian spa, which opened in 1923. Many courses in an area of 4000 square meters dedicated to facial and body treatments ranging from herbal baths to anti-cellulite treatments, from beauty salons "Temple of Health" to the paths in which the Tepidaum of the East or the Laconicum Tropics remember the Roman baths . An oasis of relaxation enriched for several years with The Seas of the East, three swimming pools that combine the charm of an exotic and refined with the latest technology, taking advantage of the unique properties of water rich of salsobromodium. Leaving the path and through the door of this fabulous temple of health, rich of atmosphere of other times, we suggest you go into one of the cafes around there to taste, depending on time, an happy hour accompanied by fried dumplings or nice cup of tea or steaming hot chocolate. If the weather is good you can sit in one of the outdoor tables that makes Italian way of life.
Moving from Salsomaggiore, within a few kilometers away there are the 20 castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza castles and fortresses symbol of the power of local families and their patronage. Heading to Parma, you can visit the Fortress of Fontanellato, still surrounded by the ancient moat of water that protected at the time of the great battles and encloses within one of the masterpieces of Italian Mannerism: the room painted by Parmigianino in 1524 with the myth of Diana and Actaeon. Heading towards Piacenza instead, just 15 minutes away you can dive medieval era with the visits to Vigoleno and Castell'Arquato villages. Also in the Piacenza area there is the castle of Gropparello, also known as the Fairy Tale Castle, which just 30 km from Salsomaggiore allows to kids and adults to live the charm of the past with vintage costumes and banquets. And finally, on the way back, for lovers of branded shopping we suggest a trip to FidenzaVillage Highway A1 exit Fidenza / Salsomaggiotre Terme. You'll notice the long queue that anticipates the entrance ... "to appear you have to suffer!"
